My experience

I’ve held leadership roles within commercial marketing, and have been a charity CEO within corporate foundations and standalone charities. Clients say they particularly value my understanding of both the corporate and non-profit sectors.

I have a track record of developing strategy based on insight, driving transformation, and delivering national programmes and campaigns. After 15 years working in commercial marketing I was appointed to the newly created Marketing and Fundraising Director for BBC Children in Need, where I led a rebrand and increased income by 22%. I subsequently joined the BBC Marketing leadership team and worked in various central and divisional marketing roles. As Founder CEO of Global’s Make Some Noise, the in-house charity of a media group, I established broadcast appeals, a fundraising events portfolio and a grants strategy. An expanded remit saw me take on the broader Social Impact agenda. I was instrumental in setting up a new secondary school sponsored by the business, helping to level the playing field for routes into the media industry, and led a 5 year youth employment programme commissioned by the National Lottery Community Fund. I was also CEO of a social mobility charity where I led the turnaround from a significant deficit to surplus, resetting strategy, culture, structure and processes.
